Continuum of Care (CoC) Homeless Assistance Program
The largest federal program dedicated to ending homelessness, providing permanent supportive housing, rapid rehousing, transitional housing, supportive services, and Homeless Management Information Systems to individuals and families experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk. Funded by HUD and administered through ~400 local CoC planning bodies, the program serves over 580,000 people annually through thousands of housing and service projects nationwide.

Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) Program
Federal funding for homeless prevention, rapid rehousing, emergency shelter, and street outreach services. ESG helps people who are experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk of homelessness through direct financial assistance, case management, housing search support, and stabilization services.
HUD-VASH (Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing) – Housing Vouchers for Homeless Veterans
Permanent housing through HUD rental assistance vouchers combined with VA case management and clinical services for veterans experiencing homelessness. HUD-VASH provides rent subsidies covering the difference between 30% of a veteran's income and the fair market rent, plus comprehensive support including mental health care, substance abuse treatment, employment services, and benefits assistance.
