The three categories are Life Sciences, Physical Sciences & Engineering, and Chemical Sciences. The prize recognizes research and promise as an independent investigator. The nominator created a new submission and entered contact, institution, role, date-of-birth, and disciplinary-category information for the nominee, along with the nominator’s own details.
The nominator supplied a rationale of no more than 200 words explaining the candidate’s independent scientific contributions, early-career success, and promise of sustained or accelerated progress.
The nominator uploaded the CV, research summary, selected publications or patents, and any approved age-exception letter that applied. The nominee wrote the research summary in the first person. It could describe up to five significant independent-career contributions, explain key results and their impact, and clarify the nominee’s role in collaborative work. Its limit was 1,000 words.
The nominator entered two letter writers’ names and email addresses. The writers received portal instructions and uploaded confidential letters themselves. The letters were limited to two pages each and were due September 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM IDT. The program advised choosing experts familiar with the nominee’s independent work, preferably from outside the nominating institution and not the nominee’s immediate advisor.
